SKILL Community — Work with Dignity

SKILL Community connects eligible talented people with genuine paid work opportunities. The purpose is simple: where a person has the ability to work, Skill Mend can consider that skill for suitable jobs or projects and agree the work, scope and payment before assignment.

SKILL Community is not presented as a donation programme. Work is assigned only when a suitable opportunity is available, and payment is based on the agreed rate for the assigned work.
How It Works

Skill first. Agreement first. Paid work.

A clear process designed to protect dignity, expectations and payment terms.

01

Contact SKILL Community

Eligible applicants can contact Skill Mend and provide basic information about their skills, experience and the type of work they can perform.

02

Skill & Opportunity Review

Skill Mend reviews the applicant's capability and considers them when a suitable internal project, job posting or paid assignment becomes available.

03

Rate & Scope Agreement

Before work begins, the task, expected delivery, scope and payment rate are agreed with the selected person.

04

Work Assignment

The agreed project or job is assigned. This may include digital, technical, creative, home-based or other suitable skilled work.

05

Work Submission

The completed work is submitted according to the agreed requirements and reviewed by the relevant Skill Mend team.

06

Agreed Payment

Payment for accepted work is made according to the rate and terms agreed before the assignment started.

Who It Is For

Opportunity for people who can work and have a skill

SKILL Community is intended for eligible widows, divorced women and talented persons with disabilities who are able to perform suitable work. The focus is on ability, skill and paid opportunity rather than publicising anyone's personal circumstances.

Personal eligibility information remains private. It is used only for SKILL Community review and is not displayed as a public label.
